Sulfer Exhaust after Gotts Mod

I've found plenty of posts on the Gotts mod and others on smelly exhausts. My issue is that I did the Gotts mod this morning and now my exhaust smells like rotten eggs. I read in places that the smell could be an issue with the cats while others said it's normal, but my truck has only 29k miles. Maybe it's in my head but has anyone else ran into something like this or know what may be causing it?
Thanks,
Silver T

The Gotts mod will not harm your cats or cause the egg smell.

Anyone who says their exhaust smells because they changed their intake is lying or something is wrong besides the intake mod. The Gotts mod is basically the equivalent of putting an exhaust tip on to an exhaust. while the Gotts does take away some restriction, it in no way modifies the intake system(besides the intake pipe diameter) or the throttle body. The exhaust tip doesn't make your truck smell, just adds a little flair.

Not saying it's not a coincidence but do you guys have any ideas on the smell? Is it normal, should I let it go for a while?

The 'rotten egg' smell usually is caused by a rich mixture being processed by the cat's. I would try and un-hook the battery in order to re-set the KAM and let the PCM re-learn the incoming air and fuel ratio. Not really sure, but it won't hurt anything to give it a try. just my $0.01.5 (inflation!)

I probably should have unplugged to reset from the get go, but some people say to do it and some say there is no need. Well after leaving it unplugged for about 20 minutes and starting it back up the smell is gone. Thanks guys.

The sulpher smell is due to the catalytic converters working at their maximum efficiency.

Didn't unplugging the battery reset the ECM?

No, if they were working at their maximum efficiency you would not smell anything. If you are smelling sulphur it is because they cannot do their job correctly for whatever reason.
