heat shield?

heat shield?

Hey guys,

So I did the "cheap" stock intake mod, and threw in a new K&N cone filter. My question is.. would I benefit at all from a heat shield around this sucker? I know its in the same place as the stock intake filter, but its now subject to the elevated engine bay temps. Let me know what you think!

The colder it is the better. So yes

Is it possible that the filter could rub those wires underneath of the filter at all?

Nahh, I see what you mean looking at the picture though. Its just the angle of the picture, those wire connections are on the top of the wheel well. A good 5-6" below the filter & remaining filter housing
