Bad drone

Hey guys i have an 06 s/c with true duals, x pipe and two flowmaster mufflers
It Has a lot of drone when the converter locks up in 4th and while
crusing on the highway. Is there a different muffler yall would recommend the
would have less drone?

Thanks

anything but flowmasters or a chambered muffler. They all drone, you will need some sort of straight through muffler.

this is why you NEVER NEVER EVER run an X pipe and chambered mufflers

where are the tips exiting?
where are the mufflers mounted?
how cheap can your exhaust shop replace the X-pipe with an H-pipe

The tips are exiting out the back, the mufflers are right in front of the axle

it shouldn't be droning but I'd try the H-pipe as it'd be cheaper than a muffler swap

now if you do decide for a muffler swap then for the Borla Stingers or Pro XS

I like your second idea better. An H pipe will drone with that flowmaster. OP, your best bet is to change the mufflers. Borla and Magnaflow is where it is at.

H-pipes drone just as bad as X-pipes. The only thing that changes is the tone. Ditch the Slows, problem solved.

^ It's really not even the tone, mostly the crack and pop and rasp.
