A 2.5" - 5x8x24" Magnaflow SI/SO with a rolled SS Tip. It will sound good and keep the torque down low and that's what you need for towing. Congrats on the '07.

About time you got of the sixxer. Welcome to the REAL truck club.

Drone is inevitable on these trucks, especially at 1800. Look into some of the Borla's and longer Magnaflow's.

Congrats
This chassis is so much smoother that the 97-03. I traded my 00' for my 06'. Then the general contractor I was working for at the time had an 09' that he traded his 07' in on and said the same thing about that chassis. But I guess we who cant buy new or dont want to have something to look forward to.

Listen to my Bullet video and you will know exactly what you want.

But to also help, we had an exhaust thread a few months ago, have a listen at all of the acoustical modular pulses and sounds.

I remember a time, many moons ago, when there was someone with a certain V6 truck that felt the exact opposite.

Once people get that V8 taste, they can't go back.

I tried a 5X8X24 SI/SO Maggie on my 2010 5.4 and could not stand the 1800 rpm drone. Of course the 2010 only has two cats so that may be the reason for the drone. Went to a 5X11X22 Maggie and the drone was just barely noticeable. I was running stock tip though. Does the rolled tip have any impact on the sound?

Rolled Tip?

Hogan,

My 3" Flowmaster SI/SO exhaust sounds completely different since I added the rolled tip, a lot more tame. The 2.5" true dual mandrel bend exhaust on my '94 Lightning has 14" Magnaflow's with tailpipes out the back passenger side and sounds a lot smoother now that I added 12" x 3.5" rolled tips.

I will say that the 5x11x22" Maggie is definitely tamer than the 5x8x24". I personally cannot handle the 24" Maggie. Something to do with being around aircraft for 21 years. I have also found that the inlet/outlet position has a lot to do with the exhaust note.

A 2.5" SI/SO muffler will be a little quieter than a 3" SI/SO muffler.
