5x11x22"

Hoganf,

Does the drone you are experiencing give you a headache or earache over time? I had a drone on my '05 Nissan Titan that would literally give me a headache after a few hours of highway driving. The 5x11x22" Maggie fixed the drone.

I ordered a 3" SI/SO 5x11x22" #12579 Magnaflow last night and I am awaiting it's arrival. The 50 series FM is starting to get old. There is no drone on the highway but it is audible. The only drone I get is around 1700-1800 RPM's. I drive at 70mph on the highway and the tach is around 2K RPM's so there is no issue with drone.

don't know if it's on the oem mufflers from 2004+ but 97-03s had a resonance eliminator attached to oem muffler- it was there specifically for this reason, it wouldn't surprise me if the godfather mgd posted a pic of what i speak...surprised nobody has put this on an aftermarket muffler to test for drone elimination.

resonator eliminator

I was looking thru a 2010 F150 sales brochure and it shows one just aft of the y-pipe.

So would the MagnaFlow 12586 be a direct replacement for my stock muffler? It's 5X11X22 SISO with 2.5" pipes

pipe diameter

I am pretty sure the '09 & '10 has 2.75" pipe, I would go with a 3" - #12589.
