If you want to save some money, get the OBX Long tube header kit.

Love mine and definitely worth the time, money and effort

American Racing Makes a really nice set. There primaries are 1 5/8 which i think is more suitable for our engines NA compared to the 1 3/4" from the other companies.

The American Racing set up is for 05-09 2WD F150's only. So if your truck is OBS or a 4x4 you are SOL.

I thought American Racing had a 4x4 version?

American Racing is probably the best long tube available for our trucks.

OBX is a dynatech rip off.... I am VERY pleased with the quality and fitment of my OBX setup.

Did you gain anything with your OBX headers?

No idea, hard to tell. My butt dyno said I did.

I really didn't do it to add power, I did it to help with exhaust gas temperatures.

I know I 'lost" boost when I put them on. So I know I'm flowing better.

Yea i remember you saying you did it for gas temps. how much did you drop? I know some are saying they see 2lb drop in boost?

When i had my pacesetters on, i hated them so much. but alot seem to like the OBX, may need to give them a try..

Whats your opinion on the 1 3/4 primaries, to big for the hp levels?

1) they didn't fit, they sat right against the body of truck
2) lost tons of power. i lost over 30rwhp/25rwtq (i do all my testing on same dyno)

i personally just think 1 3/4 is way to big for the hp levels. maybe if it was a good 500 rwhp it would be a good upgrade.

No idea how much I dropped, didn't really measure. Just know they would.

I really wonder if the tune for those pacesetters wasn't right...

The OBX's are dynatech knocks off, and a year or two ago dynatech headers were the "best" headers for our trucks and showed good gains.

I can vouch for the OBX Headers, great quality, design, fitment wasnt a problem, even on an fx4 truck. The headers took 5 minutes to get in and bolted down per side. The hard part was taking everything apart and putting it back together.

I drove around with open headers for a day before getting the rest of the exhaust fabbed up and it sounded like a v8 speed boat, no joke. Starting it up to this day sets off alarms, and shakes some insides of houses. It is a great kit with no problems so far.

You can sure hear the ticking a lot more but i dont mind. Had them on for only 4,000 miles but theyre getting louder everyday with the x pipe, dynomax bullets and 4" tip setup i have going.

Theyre only $550 shipped and for half to a third of the price of the dynatechs theyre worth every single penny and comes with a lifetime limited warranty.

Butt dyno says there's improvements, the sound is a big improvement and mileage is a plus!
