Exhaust question

So i bought a 02 F150 supercrew this week with a 5.4L and wanted to change the exhaust to make it a little more throaty. So i had a dynomax muffler at my house i took up to the shop and welded on, well to my suprize it sounds stock almost, so what do you guys do to get some sound out of these trucks????

True duals, high-flow cats, long tube headers. You know, that sort of stuff.

Not hard to make a 5.4 sound nice, just depends on taste and budget.

Have a look at some of the trucks on here, and listen to the vids also. The new Dyno Bullets are a hit lately and you could do them fairly cheap.

i used to have a bullet on my old chevy truck, it sounded good but also had headers and a cam and some more stuff, i may try one of those or maybe a single chamber flowmaster

All the Flowmasters sound the same. If you like it, great. If you don't, there are better choices.

Dynomax

I installed an offset/offset 14" Super Turbo on my stock '01 SuperCab with the 5.4L and it sounded great. Throaty when I hammered the go pedal and just audible at 70 mph with the stereo showing 5 full bars. It had a little deeper tone when I added the MAC (C)AI at WOT and cruise. Each person hears things differently...
