Which Magnaflow?

I have a FM Catback on my '07 4.6L STX SC that came with the 50 Series SUV Muffler. It is a Ctr I/O muffler and has the 17" case. I purchased it from Summit for a great price in '08. I've never been a fan of FM due to the tinny sound but I do admit this is the best FM system I've heard.

I would like to get rid of the 50 Series due to exterior corrosion, the metallic tone/sound and a seat-of-the-pants loss of low end torque. I have had a 5x8x24" Maggie on my Nissan Titan and it droned terribly. I then went to the 22" SUV muffler and it was just about perfect. I did feel a loss of low end torque with both of the Maggie muffler's.

After searching the Forum Threads I am still undecided in which Maggie to install. I would like to hear the muffler when accelerating with out a noticeable loss of low end torque. However, I cannot deal with a lot of drone. The FM 50 Series is perfect at 70 mph and I do not want to install anything louder.

Any suggestions? The Ctr I/O 5x8x24" #12279 or the Ctr I/O 5x11x22" #12579?
My '07 is a 4.6L, has two factory cat's, is a SuperCab with an AFE (C)AI, a 3" Cat Back and a SuperChips Flashpaq.

Thanks, James

I would say that either one of those would work out just fine for you.

Thanks for the reply... I spoke to the exhaust shop I do business with and they basically told me the same thing. I assume that the F150's would have less drone with most of the muffler under the bed compared to a Expy with the muffler under the cabin area.
