Should I get the 12" or 16" Borla XR-1?

Now that my 4" Magnapack is broken in it's got WAY too much popping at moderate to high RPMs. I've decided on an oval XR-1 but I'm trying to decide which one I want. So should I get the 12" or 16"? I don't really care how loud it is I just don't want the popping during acceleration.

For those who don't know I've got Magnaflow 94106 high-flows, 3" piping from the y-pipe, 2 1/2" tailpipes, and 4" x 18" tips.

I really REALLY liked the Magnapack until it was fully broken in. I like the tone under light acceleration but anything more than that and it pops like crazy which I hate.

I have two 12", though they do not pop on acceleration they do as soon as you let off of it...but that is only with the overdrive off.

Yeah my Magnapack pops on decel too with overdrive off. I ordered the 12" so hopefully it'll work out for me.

It is an acquired taste. True dual it and it wont be as bad. But the 12" XR-1 will suit ya well.

Do they really? Must be if you have duals. I only have a single and mine has never popped once and I've been running it since February or March.

I think it's more the combination of the small round case muffler and the high-flow cats. I'm anxious to hear the 12" XR-1 and high-flows.

XR-1 is designed to be a quieter performance muffler. I think you will be happy, and I can't wait to hear your videos!

Got the XR-1 on today. It's definitely not as loud as the Magnapack but it does sound good. I decided that I'm tired of having smooth/crush bent aluminized piping on my truck so I decided to order a 3" mandrel bent stainless tailpipe for a 2003 F150 and install it myself. I know I'll probably have to modify it to an extent but it'll give me a good piece to start with. I also ordered a stainless hanger and a stainless 4 1/2" x 12" rolled tip.

I'll post pics of the system once I get everything installed and get the truck cleaned up.
