^ Really? Then I have no idea. There are pictures all over the internet of an XR-1 looking like that. Maybe some models have and some don't?

According to Borla the 12" oval body models don't have the "baffle".

If it's like a Flowmaster baffle, it is how the sound is amplified I think. Kills flow though as we all know The Borla's would surprise me for having a traditional baffle; especially seeing how they are geared for the high end performance market

all of them have that plate. its nearly nothing if your thinking its restricting flow. the the plate, along with sides of the whole muffler, is perforated, which is why restricting flow is not an issue, like the real metal plates in those tin can flowmufflers.

^ Right. I bet that perforated plate changes the sound too.

Why is everyone so worried about the baffle plate? Is that one little plate really going to do anything for or against hp#'s on a stock truck??

I really dont think it matters for our vehicles. I'll find out when i get around to getting the xr-1 ordered and on my truck though, lol!

theres no reason to worry about that plate. if it wasnt perforated, thatd be a different story.

I think it is a difference in pipe size. All of the 3" XR-1 I saw in threads had the plate in side. I think that the 2.5" doesn't come with it...
