You will want a tip or tips if your dumping it. Tips influence sound a hell of a lot more than you would think.

Here's this picture.

If you dump it like this and put tips on it make sure the pipes are far enough apart so the tips are seperated then cut the tubing as close to the bend as possible making sure there's still enough straight part left to mount the tips on.
