Exhaust and Engine Whining/Turbo sound

ALCON:
I replaced my fan a few weeks back and fixed an exhaust leak just past the manifold. Yesterday my truck started to hit high rpms and almost sounded like a turbo whining out. Can anyone explain what this may be? I have already replaced my fan two times inthe past year and a half.
Thanks!
John

I replaced the fan clutch twice with after market clutchs. Both turned out to be junk, so I went to the Ford Dealer and replced it with a Ford stock fan. Eliminated the problem. Althouhg the fan and clutch were twice the price.
