Need Opinions

Hey guys I am sort of looking at my options for exhaust and would like to hear what you think. Ive got a supercharger 5.4.

Option 1:
Longtubes + x-pipe+ (2) 40series flows (true duals)

Option 2:
Longtubes + Roush off road (single in dual out)

Im looking more for performance...option 1 is cheaper for me because I have the flowmaster mufflers sitting around. Not worried about the sound, either way I will probably have an electric cut out somewhere for when I want it to be loud.

Let me know what you guys think, I have been told true duals is best for performance but I also herd that roush makes a pretty mean system. Thanks.

Option 1 would perform better if you had a pair of straight-through mufflers. Flowmaster is only for sound, while straight-through mufflers are performance oriented.

Exactly what 4.6 said. I would sell the Flowmasters for whatever you can get out of them, and buy Borla XR-1s.

if you've got the coin, which by the looks of your truck you do, then dump the flowmasters and go Borla as was suggested already. They may be expensive, but they sound sexy!

I also say nay to the cutouts. They do nothing for performance.

How loud are the borlas???

The reason I have the e-cut outs is because I love the loud sound but I make 3 hour trips from tampa to jacksonville 1-2 times a month so the noise starts to wear on me. Its nice to be able to close them up and have no interior drone.

Yours won't sound the same, but it gives you some perspective on them.

Borla Xr1s no doubt! Longtubes headers with those mufflers is THE best setup you can get IMO!

Can I get a part number on the borla you guys think would be the best....they have a bunch of different ones. Thanks

So the general opinnion is that a true duel set up is the way to go over the single roush?

I'd love to drive my truck (more than usual) if it had that setup. I guess it's just me, but I love aggressive exhausts.

Agreed. Or put a bassani kit on there and make it sound like a jet boat.

Thinking about doing it. Im sure it wont sound as good as that cobra but I dont think any set up on our trucks will have that awesome mustang sound we all know so well. Sounds like it will pretty loud but I think I will get over it if in my mind I have the best performance set up for my truck.
