Finally swapping the H for an X

Payday finally came and I've been putting this off for too long. Some time next week I'll go out and get a Maggie X-pipe welded in as well as get a nasty exhaust leak fixed. I'll keep you all posted.

I originally meant to have a X, but funds got short at the last minute and a H was fabbed up as a temporary.

let us know if it changes the SOP feel and what your mileage does (if any) and also see if you can do a 0-60 test before and after

I really not expecting any power differences, it's all just for the sound. I might do a series of 0-60's before and after just to see if there truly is a difference.

Why though? You've always recommended the H-pipe to everyone; I think it has an awesome tone with the h-pipe in there.

I never planned on getting the H until the last minute when I started running out of cash. I probably should have swapped it out when I was getting the the new cats installed, but now I can finally get the leak welded that looks like it's been burning a hole in the floor boards.

sweet man. Your low end should improve a little. especially towing. The tone balance from the pipes will be much better too. But you didn't really buy the $90 Magnaflow X pipe did you? There are $40 stainless X pipes on ebay.

I bought the $66 Maggie X off of performancepeddler. I really didn't want to buy the ebay one because of the long shipping times and having to deal with paypal.

I noticed no power difference at all when I made the H to X change. It did make a big difference in sound!

That's what I'm expecting. I think you would need a dyno just to be able to tell the difference performance-wise.

^ Agreed. I think your sound will be a smoother, and you should lose some crackle. I like the smoother "toned" sound my self. I think that is what gives our trucks the extra leg up on the other systems.

And the sound will be balanced, the right tip wont sound choppy and louder than the left, and the left wont sound deeper than the right.
