Sounds like it may be running rich and blew out the cats a bit. Have it checked out my the dealership and get a sniffer test going to see how much carbon is passing. Figure out what is causing the rich condition too if it is.

Yeah if the cats are burnt out its running rich, if its blowing too much carbon ( should have a CEL due to it too ) and has a BB like sound at idle while underneath the truck it may be the problem.

My truck recently developed this BB sound you speak of. I've been running VMP custom tune for about 1300 miles. I thought it was just some loose bolt or heat shield rattling around, and wrote it off as one of those phantom jimmies / shakes. Does this deserve further investigation?

It could if it annoys you enough. If it doesn't smell that bad on cold start I wouldn't be too concerned.

Perfect reason to break down and go for the 94106's?! Replacing the cats would take care of the rattle, right? And maybe some datalogging for Justin at VMP?

I'm not guaranteeing anything without not knowing the exact issue, as cat replacement is not at all needed on such a new truck, but if you are positive its coming from your converters and want to change them for added volume, go for it.
