Went to a buddies house today and we did my exhaust. Cut out the stock cats and welded in some Magnaflow high flow 94106s. Next up, we cut the stock y-pipe and welded on a single, completely straight 3" pipe right into the 3" (center center) polished stainless steel MAC muffler.

Next up i put on my Magnaflow polished stainless turn down tip after the muffler and wahlah, done!

As soon as we started it, i could tell it was going to sound mean, i was right.

sounds pretty good..never heard of a MAC muffler

 

Sounds "hollow" to me, I don't know.

If you like it then it's all good.

 

MAC is more popular in the Mustang world, they offer exhaust, headers, intakes, pullies, etc.

In person it has BASS, sounds much meaner.

Thanks, one of the reasons i went with just dumping it before the rear axle is so i could in time change it by adding a pipe over the axle.

Wait, you cut the y-pipe off? Did you make a new y-pipe?

Mac mufflers sound good. My buddy had those mufflers on his sn95 back in the day.

We cut the factory y pipe back far enough to allow for the new 3" pipe to be welded in place.

Nice job! Just curious but how hard of a time did you have welding in the new cats? I have thought about switching mine to high flows myself but it looks real tight in there.

 

Everything went smoothly, we took our time. We did have to get at some weird angles to weld the cats into the stock tubing though.



NEW PROBLEM! Was out driving today and the truck threw 2 codes:

P0054: H025 Heater Resistance (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

P2270: 02 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean - Bank 1 Sensor 2

I'll crawl under it when i get home and make sure the sensors are plugged in and tight, I'm hoping that they are just no plugged in all the way...

 

Yep, my mistake! Forgot to plug in the Passenger side o2.
