OBX Longtubes on the way...!

Just ordered my OBX Long tubes for my 08 5.4 screw

Got the resonated kit for a great price, well below the Dynatech price which is around $1200

I'll be installing the magnaflow X pipe 2.5" in/out after the resonators

Heres my dilemma:

How far after the resonators/cats should the X pipe be placed?

How far after the X pipe should the mufflers be placed? (dont want too much noise in the cab, so i was thinking right where the bed starts?)

Should I get two magnapacks 2.5" in/out or di/do magnflow muffler? (keep in mind ill be running an 18" body either way)

Ill probably be dumping it after the rear axle like 4x4kid did, but pointed more towards the ground and with 4" tips

What do you guys think?

X pipe is to be place as far forward as possible. Around the stock Y pipe placement. I recommend running 2 mufflers, and they should be placed close to the rear axle. The farther forward the mufflers are, they say it makes more noise in the cab. If you must dump, I completely agree with the tips!

Still deciding on the dump or not

If not, ill 45 behind each tire with 4" tips

Where do you think best placement for the mufflers would be? (good estimate would help)

I run the obx with a 18" magnaflow with internal x pipe and 3.5" tips near the stock location and its loud! Inside has some drone but personally I think it sounds good. I had 2 14" mufflers and it was way to loud for my taste.

Under the truck

Under the bed and not under the cab at all is best for inside volume and fitment.

I've got a 14" muffler and it sounds alright. With the headers though would probably too much noise and not the right sound I'm looking for.

Going OBX Longtubes (should be here tomorrow ), Magnaflow X Pipe, two 18" magnapacks and 4" tips. Everything 2.5

Should be exactly what im looking for

Yea I had 14s when after I removed 2 of the 4 cats, and they sounded awesome. However with no cats and the long tubes it was crazy loud.

14" looks better, but from what ive read the longer the tip, the deeper the tone?

i might have to go with 18's and a 4" round tip then, but i dont want the tips to look too skinny, 06ford has a 14x4" tip and it looks HUGE

I think the 18" looks better. I don't think you will be able to hear much of a sound difference between the two though.
