swapping mufflers

I may have asked this question before, but I honestly can't remember and I can't find it in a search.

I have a Flowmaster Force II kit on my truck now. I'd like to get a Magnaflow, but was wondering if I would get any benefit from installing the whole kit as opposed to just swapping my Flowmaster muffler for a Magnaflow. I mean, pipes are pipes. The Flowmaster pipes are mandrel bent 2.5" after the muffler and before the muffler is factory. So really the only difference I can see between the two kits would be the muffler itself. Flowmaster says the muffler I have now (Super 50) is 24.25", so obviously I'd have to add some pipe if I went with something like an 18" Maganflow, but that shouldn't be too big a deal.

Any input? Am I on the right track here?

14" if you want to hear some noise, 18" if you want to hear less noise. Coming from a 50 series, I recommend a 14" si/do. You won't believe the difference.

You wouldn't want to add pipe, you would need to cut off more pipe. The 18" Mag is shorter than a 24" Super 50. I too would vote the 14" SI/DO #12198 Magnaflow too.
