Lewisville/DFW TX Area Heads-Up

Located a shop to do some exhaust work on the new truck. Gave them a call for a quote, what they have in stock, when they can get to it, etc. really nice guy on the phone. One of the down-home, good-guys. Come on down, we'll get right to it.

I pull-up to the old school, less than fancy shop, 2 of the 6 bays filled with a nearly restored Buick Eight the other with a shop drag car (a LONG way from the strip). No glistening muffler chainstore here.

I explain that I want sound, but no bubba... that I'm interested in a Magnaflow 14". Cool. Long story short, he welds one up (great welds), and then re-hangs my stock tailpipe to not hang so low, cuts it off short and welds on a SS flared tip, that sits about 1 inch blow the body and tucked in a little. AWESOME. Looks WAY better than that goofy looking stock pipe/location.

We all know what the muffler sounds like, nice! Perfect amount of noise and zero drone. Exactly what I wanted.

Total price: $188.00 out the door. No tax, as he "charges jobber prices".

Anyway, been a while since I've run into an old-school mom and pop shop where you can expect good work & good service. Give 'em a call if you are in the area.

dang dude, I went to a place in Corinth called excaliber. and he got my catback done real quick (e-cutouts, x-pipe, dual borla XR-1, dual exit before the rear tire ss tips) for$125 all welded up and everything. but when i first did my exhaust i think i went to jerry's for my 14in maggy and it was 25 bucks.

I had quotes from 175 - 250 before tax.

Tell ya what if you got the parts and install for $25, I did get ripped

Also in that price, the stock tail was bent as well as a hanger made.

Honestly, who cares about prices like that. My si/do 14" 12198 maggie with SS tips was 550 and my cat work was like 220. I know it came out good so I don't care paying more. You sound happy, that's what matter to me

Does this price include the muffler?

That is exactly the type of shop I ran across several years ago when redoing mine, you just cant beat the service or prices! Thanks for the heads up, I'll remember the place if I ever end up living in DFW as I think I might
