High Flow cats will increase the volume level significantly. They will also add rasp to it.

Put a 2 chamber Flowmaster 40 series in it, with big 4" tips.

I dont know, do you want a raspy note? A Flowmaster muffler wont rasp that badly, barely any with stock cats. It will contain that deep toned idle and a hollow like note.

I loved my 50 series SUV on my 97 Dodge Ram with the 5.9, sounded so sexy, didn't perform very well though.

Wow, that sounded pretty awful. If you want your truck to sound like that, go right on ahead. The 40 series will give it the "blub blub blub" sound, but that's it.

AV... I am planning on putting in High Flow cats on my system... it was my understanding that they only really increased air flow, thus upping the volume of the exhaust. I've heard a lot of systems on youtube (not many in person) that don't have a rasp to them with high-flo's... I do not want rasp in my system either, I think it sounds like something's wrong with the truck if it doesn't have a deep rumble to it.
