14 inch magnaflow???

i had my 14 inch magnaflow installed on my 01 on saturday. When i fired her up i was shocked thatt it sounded barely louder than stock. What can i do to make it louder and not spend a fortune?
Do i remove a pair of cats or dump it and go to flowmaster?
I love the sound but its just wayy to quiet. Please help

Give it some time it will get louder. If it's still not loud enough look into hi flow cats

I believe the break in period is 6000 miles or more. But you will be able to tell I think I have had mine on for 1000 miles and it has gotten louder.

Remove your stock cats and have two Magnaflow 94106s welded in their place. Then if that is not loud enough for you, you can upgrade to 3" piping from the y-pipe back to the muffler.

Is it a round or oval muffler?

Very surprising its not much louder than your stock one. Mine was a good 2-3x louder. Sure at idle it won't be much louder, just an inherent quality of the straight through design. When you get on the gas at all it should be noticeably louder though.

Mine were quiet at first, but after they broke in they sounded really good. I had true dual exhuast with only 2 of the 4 cats but the 2 cats were still stock. My boss has one on his truck with stock cats and it sounds good too, louder then stock. Now with long tubes my 14s are to loud so I'm going 18"

Your first inital sound increase will be near 1,000 miles. The full break in will be near 6,000 miles. Upgrading your silencing 4 cats for 2 Magnaflow hi-flow cats will greatly increase your audible output through the muffler.

Its the oval body.

And yeah what ive read is it will have to break in for about 1000 miles and if that sitll isnt loud enough then ill go to the magnaflow high flow cats. Also im getting tips put on tomorrow so that should help a bit too.
