Ok, so i went ahead and ordered the 4" Magnapack (figured an inch wouldn't really make THAT big of a difference) with an 18" tip. Was going to do the Y pipe behind the muffler to make duals, but then got quotes over $400 to weld it up...forget that jazz (the guys seemed like a bit of a d-bag too).

So i'm just going to go straight out the back with a single pipe for now. Can always add another tip later when i get the funds.

Hopefully it's not TOO loud that i'll go deaf at highway speeds! I figure with only one muffler, and all cats, likely won't be too bad...keep you all posted!

 

KingCog, I would check out more installers. It took me 2 weeks of calling around before I settled on one and the guy quoting you over $400 is smoking crack. I paid $350 for a true dual install from cutting off the y pipe and running stainless steel mandrel bent to tips exiting the behind the rear tires. I got everything from "this can't be done" to quotes in excess of $600. Take some more time to check around and hopefully you will get what you want at a decent price. Good luck!

Well, it wasn't quite as good as the deal you got Darren, but I'm not complaining!

 

Well I went to HS with the kid and I detail his car at least once every summer, so he cut me a break. Hopefully he can cut me a break on the muffler swap coming up here in a bit. Its usually $40 per muffler..
