will a throttle body spacer help?

i'm looking at improving my performance and i came across a throttle body spacer. It looks like a good deal if it does what it says it does but does it really do all of that? increasing hp, torque, and fuel economy? I have a 98 f150 with a 4.6l.

if anyone else has used one of these spacers please let me know how it has worked out for you

I personally gained over 200rwhp and nearly 300ftlbs with my throttle body spacer. I saw a slight decrease in MPG though.

Me too! And, when I combined that with an IAT resistor, a tornado, a new muffler tip and some stickers, I also lost 40 pounds, tossed my Viagra and Ginseng, and quit drinking!

OP - honestly - with 159 posts, you have not yet figured out how to use this: https://www.f150online.com/forums/search.php ... to find tons of these: https://www.f150online.com/forums/19...?highlight=tbs... ?

So how do you play pool with a rope?

Now I understand his issues; MGDfan hasn't had a drink or been laid since V2.1e (02-22-2010, 01:36 PM, https://www.f150online.com/forums/4103288-post2.html)

Of course it helps.... make your truck whistle like an import.
Throttle body spacers are completely useless (except on old GM TBI setups). The logic behind them is completely flawed. A spacer only helps if the fuel is introduced into the intake manifold from the same point that air enters (like a carb setup). A better designed manifold is a better solution for that though. Basically, a throttle body spacer is not going to change the way that air or fuel enters the combustion chamber because its before the injectors and any "spiral flow" there supposedly is, is quickly disrupted when it splits off abruptly in 8 directions. No change = no power increase.

$125 paper weight. you can get more power if you paint flames on the truck and go to ebay and look up turbo whistle and put one in your exhaust pipe
