Banks Monster Duals

Hi, I have driven GM for 20 years but have recently seen the light and realized that Ford has a better product. I just ordered a 2010 FX4 with 5.4L. I plan to install Banks monster duals and K&N filter. No CAI, just replace stock filter. Will I need programmer to complete this upgrade? Any help or opinion would be greatly appreciated. I am also new to online forums so if this thread is posted somewhere else I apologize. Thanks.

Welcome to the site. No you do not need a programmer. If you were getting a CAI, then yes and it would have to be a custom tuned programmer, like the PHP Gryphon, which will have to be written to work with your mods.

Not needed, but it will perform better with it! Oh, and BTW, you will never go back to GM!

Programmer isn't needed, nor is it for an intake on the newer ones. The banks kit will sound quite nice.

And welcome to the Ford side of things. Most of us are open minded and not brand loyal, but i'll bite my tongue a little, you will enjoy not changing out consistent blown bulbs, and fuel pumps

Thanks for the help. My last 2 GMs were diesel so it is gonna be different driving gas again, but alot more fun. Test drove just about everything out there, but kept on going back to Ford. They are making an excellent product right now. Thanks again.
