94106's: My Feedback/Experience
Ok guys, so wayyyy back last year I was planning out my exahust system. God I must have bothered Darren for months
But I finally decided on the 12198 14" Magnaflow si/do. I decided on it for a few reasons. The tone sounds great from the vids on youtube, it's not overbearing inside and it doesn't hurt performance. I had it installed at one of the good shops in the area and was very pleased. I let it break in and I knew the day where I would want it louder would come eventually. Well after learning more and more about the hi-flow cats, I decided to finally take the plunge after being inspired by 08Fx4's sexy vid from February. I made a deal with Sampson01, and we met and I picked up the 94106's. I was planning on just doing the rears as I didn't know that I wouldn't get the full sound increase. I changed that idea quickly after hearing going from my factory 4 down to 2 would give my a nice performance increase and the ultimate sound increase.
Well, today I went to the shop as soon as I got out of class. He originally told me he could just delete my rears for me and weld pipe in place for the same effect, but I said I would rather have 4 replaced with 2 so I wouldn't smell the "lack -of cat" smell like Darren and others have reported that could potentially get the attention of sniffers. Well, they crew did a great job and once he pulled it out, I could tell from the office it was gonna sound mean. I loaded my Gryphon 87 performance and as soon as it was ready I turned the key and I nearly fudged myself. WOW it sounds mean. Guys, anyone who wants a louder but not an obnoxious tone, this set-up is for you! I HIGHLY recommend not going with hi flows initially as you can learn your sound tolerance. My tolerance is pretty up there it seems, but this is just right for an everyday driver. As soon as I eased on the gas to pull forward, you can hear it. It idles louder, its louder and deeper all the way across the rpms. It is much louder even if you are only tapping the gas. It's freakin perfect!
I am so thrilled. It has the nice low rpm grumble that I was missing and is growls like an SOB from a stop. The interior drone at cruise is a minimal increase so it is still a great set-up for those who don't like drone. I am so pumped. Now my gf is gonna make fun of me when she is in the truck and I can't stop smiling
I am not tooting my own horn, but I can say this is a great set-up and is one of the nicest I have heard to date in person. Def

Agreed, video is a must! This something I'm considering very much. I love my exhaust but would love to give it a boost. Right now at cruise I like the noise inside I'm afraid any louder I would get annoied. But, I soon plan to do my audio and dynamat my whole truck, so I think afterwards I could maybe stand to put the high flows on.

Great to hear! Im wanting to do this as well and you almost just convinced me to switch over to performancepeddler right now and order them.. but I keep wanting to maybe switch mufflers.. Im really wantin that Roush OffRoad sound so I dont know what to do at the moment..
I just can't get over how much of a growl it has.. Like it's very mean. Sounds like a sports car in the cab and I def gained some low end... it hops right up to speed with less rpms. And I am very impressed with the idle... has a fantastic tone when in drive and at a light. Like I said, one of the best exhausts I have ever heard on an F-150 in person.
