Air Filter Never changed!!!

So Im looking at a 2002 F150 that has a cold air intake installed and never changed or cleaned or recharged. It was supposedly on for 6 years without changing or cleaning.

What kind of damage should I look for from this? Any way to know if anything is wrong with the truck because of this?
What would it take to deal with this?

Thanks

That isn't quite good, however depending on the filter it depends. If it was a dry flow filter I wold trust it a little, if anything its just covered in dust. If it was an oiled filter type, I wouldn't buy the truck personally. Clean the throttle body and MAF sensor, and a full tune up and it should be good to go.

I think I'd be alarmed just by the seller telling you this...like he's justifying selling you the truck - an "I told you so" kind of thing. If it hasn't had any problems whatsoever, I would think he would just clean the filter and sell the truck without telling anyone. I'd definitely be cautious and wouldn't pay anywhere near blue book value.

Definitely a cause for concern.
