These two cats look nearly identical, I'm thinking they should sound about the same. The reason i ask is I plan on running long tubes in the future and thought that the 54306 would be an easier fit since they are more of a round shape.

What do you guys think? The 54306 is a bit more costly and I'm wondering if they'd be a little louder?

You counld try running them, but I can't guarantee them lasting. The reason being, the 54306 cats are 4,250lb gvwr rated cat, so with your 5,000lb truck, and the forceful blast of 1,000 degree heat blowing through the catalyst, they will eventually fail.

The 94000 series line of cats is 6200gvwr rated, they will last and not fail. They're built for trucks. Stick with the 94106s and angle mount them.

I think I would go with the 94000s then.

Laying flat, they are about 6"s wide with the heatshield design. The passenger bank cat will need tilted/angled to its side to fit if its up past the crossmember, otherwise if its in the middle it will be fine. The drivers side bank may need to be angled to a 45 degree slant to fit depending on the OEM heat shield wrapping under the cab, and if you have a transfercase or not.

Either way in general, they will fit, and perform fine, they can be mounted in anyway and still function properly.
