replacing stock muffler, leaving it single

have an 07 lariat supercrew 5.4. im looking to replace the stock muffler with something that has just a little more grunt. im not looking for single chamber loud, but i want it more agressive than stock. is a magnaflow the way to go? i searched and see that most people are putting magnaflow 14 inch mufflers in. the muffer looks longer than 14 inches, you just use a test pipe to make up the difference? is it single in single out both in the center of the muffler or is one of them offset?

anyone have any part numbers i can plug into summit racing?

thanks guys.

Just take it to the shop and ask them to put a 14" magnaflow on. Let them figure out what offset they want. For a simple muffler swap, I doubt you are going to save much of anything buying the muffler online (unless they are asking over a $100 for just the muffler). Most shops are going to charge more for the work if you aren't buying a muffler from them. My local mom and pop shop will put one in for around $110 with the muffler, but if I ordered it online I would pay around $75 then have to pay $45 for labor.

A 14" oval body will suit you just right.

so a 14 inch body center single in center single out will work? stock mufflers definatly longer than 14 inches, they just gotta weld in the new muffler with test pipe?

magnaflow, glasspack, or borla if your sane, if not a cheap piece of straight pipe will work

Go with a offset end, and a centered end, doesn't matter which cause the mufflers are universal, but the tailpipe end should be centered as the inlet should be offset for easiest fitment.
