Yay 11" Magnaflows and Dynomax bullets and Hi-flow Cats, Borla rules.
I know I was just joking and MGD started it

well I just got back from the exhaust shop and the said they can't run 409 pipe because it's hard to bend. Should I settle for aluminized and paint it with high heat paint before and after winter, how long would it last that way? I could also tell he didn't like it when I said I had everything but the pipe.

I have 14 gauge... has held up well. I rinsed it off every so often during the winter and am doing to coat it later once I get out of school this semester. You should be ok, but find out the gauge first.

thanks, does that make sense though why can't they bend stainless steel?
how long do you think that paint would last? the kind I got for my mufflers was 2000 deg rating

I'm a little confused at that myself. I am not sure if certain pipe benders can only do certain grades of steel. That might be why. I can tell you this tho, the shop I use will do SS, but it would have been an 800-900 dollar job That paint should be ok. Jerame said that BBQ grille paint works great too.

I wanted to get 5 years out of this system, after that I'm have headers, and true duals put on, all coated and in SS with borla mufflers. Hell my cat work tomorrow is nearly 300 bucks! These shops rip us off around here compared to other areas of the country

$300 damn I hope mine dosen't cost that much for the cats. I wish they guy that did the exhaust on my other truck didn't retire, he was great I don't know what pipe was on my other truck but it didn't even have surface rust.

FAIL. Lazy fail, at that. Find a better shop with a better bender, with an installer whom knows how to use it.

As for the aluminized, you should be fine, if the salt is layed as much as it is up here in Tioga County you can get 3 - 5 years out of it if you shoot it clean at the car wash one weekly in winter. If you wanna travel come up here I know a guy who will do it all

thats what I was thinking I know another place that will to stainless but he trys to talk you out of true duals, so thats not much better. The reason I went to this shop is because the have done true duals on F-150's before. But when he said he didn't think my x-pipe woould work and that he usally uses h-pipes I have doubts. a friend of mine had a si/do muffler installed with hi-flow cats there, it took them 3 days and he wanted the tips out at the corner of the bumpers and they were striaght out the back.
