My 2000 5.4 has issues with the accelerator sticking in the idle position,which I guess is better than the other way like Toyotas.I checked the cable and its o.k. The binding is in the butterfly at air inlet.It wants to stick slightly when rotated off of the closed position.Common problem ?

 

Have you tried cleaning it?

 

Clean the heck out of it front and back. Gotta un-install it to do so.
