New Exhaust Setup

Goin in this week to get a new setup. Truck is a 03 4.6l supercrew 2wd. Right now i have a flowmaster si/do and im looking to go louder. So im thinking y pipe instead of the muffler. Right now i have 3 in tips but looking to go bigger. do you think 3.5 or 4in and how should i run them? thanks

hell yeah. i got the same exact setup as you do includin same size tips. ive been waitin a few months to do exactly what you want to my exhaust. now that i just got my fresh inspection sticker (saturday) now i can. although im gonna have to wait about a week till i'll have enough money to order the Y-pipe. it took a good deal of self control to not cut out the flowmaster today and just leave it dumped in front of the axle, ive done it before and know it sounds good but i reckon i'll just wait a week and do it right

Yeah it should sound good. Hopefully its a good bit louder even though i am keeping the stock cats. These 40 series si/do's are pretty quiet.

oh yeah it's gonna be a helluva lot louder. ive done it before without the y pipe and just left it dumped and it blew the flowmasters away. but i put it back on cuz its pretty dumb to have tips and not have em hooked up and i couldnt afford a Ypipe at the time. gonna do it right and im set till next march for my inspection
