Which muffler is quieter?

hey guys, with my LT setup i cant stand the drone on my exhaust when pulling(i do a good bit) and am changin my muffler, just not sure which one to change to. i have a 5x8 si/do 18" maggie on there now, and am stuck between then 5x8" si/do 24" maggie #12368 and the 5x11" si/do 22" maggie #12588 with an adapter to get down to the 2.5" pipe from the 3" inlet. im thinkin the 5x11" would have less drone, and am almost to go with that, but i wanna get some input from you guys. so what do you guys think?

thanks
Adam M

The 5x8 24" should be quieter, but the 5x11 22" may be a little deeper sounding.

This is a great question... Glad you asked because I was kind of wondering the same thing.

Anybody else believe that the 5x11" would give a deeper sound?

the quieter outside isn't a big deal, im mainly just lookin to get rid of some drone, a little lower sound would be and added plus tho, even tho it sounds awesome now. so i should have titled the thread "which muffler drones less"....

The 5x11 body will be quieter because its 3"s thicker than the 5x8 model, it will absorb more drone sound, even being 2"s shorter than the 24, it will still be quieter inside.

Yes. It has a thicker case, which means more interior packing to dampen out sound, 3"s more worth. Its your winner for sure.

Is it droning or is it too loud. These can be two different things. Drone is a due to tailpipe design/length. Google Tailpipe Resonance and happy reading. I put on a branch resonator and it helped alot.
