If you will edit your profile to include your truck year and engine or make a sig that has the info with mods, it would greatly assist those trying to answer your questions. Will help eliminate erroneous info as well.

MGD, does that quote from super-chips also include swapping over to a CAI setup over the stock intake causing the engine to run more lean than it should? If thats the case, even doing a simple CAI swap requires a retune?

Only on a 5.4 3V will you need a tune when running a CAI.

There are a ton of folks on here, running the Gotts mod, on there 97 to 2003 trucks, as well as many running CAIs, as well, with no issues.
Yeah, I just noticed that. He should change his name to something more respectable than "Super Chips Distributor". I also thought the OP was talking about the Gotts Mod, not that crinkled bendy thing.
