I have a question.

05 screw 4x4. I don't want to throw a bunch of cash at this truck, it's got 192,000 miles on it. I would like a better sound and a little more power wouldn't hurt either. I baby the hell out of this truck, so I guess top end power is not what i'm after, but I do pull a trailer a couple times a week so more low end power would be more useful to me. What would be a good upgrade for me from my stock exhaust?

Hello gentlemen! How are you guys doing?

I would agree with Mr. Avfrog.

OP - here is a good read elaborating on that rationale.

What you need to avoid is a chambered muffler (FartMasters, lol), as yer low-end torque will take a bit of a hit. Keeping the stock pipe diameter will help as well, given yer specific needs.

I do hope this helps a little bit.

Good luck, and enjoy your weekend, fellas!

yeah, heck a quick trip to autozone will get you setup good. just pick out a good replacement muffler that will fit right in, same size pipe as your stock muffler and just cut the old one out and put the new one in. you'll just need to pipe couplings and two clamps, those total will be under 10 bucks. they also got straight pipe if ya wanted to take that route

You don't want to go with those XL's. They flow worse than.... flows!

I suggest a programmer. They're relatively inexpensive and produce a lot more power/torque than a simple muffler swap.
