3" SI/SO Magnaflow installed...FINALLY!!!

After a long hiatus from the forums, I'm back and excited to have finally gotten my Maggie installed.

I had the shop cut the Y pipe to the point where it welded with the 3" mid pipe to the Magnaflow(#12229), then 3" pipe all the way out over the axle behind the rear tire. Everything was then fully welded and checked for leaks...none whatsoever. For a SI/SO, it has a MEAN, deep growl and it's as loud, if not louder than alot of the dual exhaust trucks I've seen in my area. My truck has a very noticeable increase in throttle response and it just seems to purr when cruising on the highway. Due to a low battery on my phone, this pic was the only one that came out decent. :o I have a few others in my photo album but quality isn't that great. Will try and take better pics and video later this weekend.

Quick pic of Y pipe welded to the 3" midpipe

before they welded the 3" on, you should have looked at the inside of your oem y-if u saw it , you would have had a new y installed to take full advantage of the 3" and muffler.

Didn't even think about that....Honestly, I wasn't even aware that the Magnaflow Y's are only about $30 or so. Geez....I'll just have to keep that in mind for next time. Thanks.

BTW, I'm sorry that I forgot to mention that this setup was suggested to me by Darren, of course we all know who that is. Thanks bro!

Same exhaust setup I have man, I have I believe the same part number muffler.. but I aint quite sure.. I did right after y-pipe back 3inchs then out to 3.5 inch tip. 3SI 3SO Magnaflow 14inch, sounds awesome I love it.. but now I kinda want a little more growl and aggression I guess Im getting used to it.. But great choice I like it too!

The exhaust shop that did mine was WAY impressed with the sound
