Thoughts on Exhaust...
I'm looking for a quieter system, but wouldn't mind getting a few extra ponies out of it. I've decided I don't want to run the LT's but was wondering if this would be an ok sounding system for the truck...
2 94000 series maggie highflow cats
1 18" maggie oval (straight through) muffler or 18" Borla oval muffler (Sound similar to me, but think I like the maggie sound better).
3" SS tip.
This will be a SI/SO system all 2.5". Figured since the truck as a decent amount of miles on it I might as well replace the O2 sensors while they do the cats.
Sound like an ok plan?

So I was doing a bit of research on the exhaust stuff. It was mentioned that a maggie Y-pipe would be better than the stock one since (Can't remember which side) was really restricted compared to the other.
Would it be worth it to put one of those in and which one? They had a close together 10" Y and a 45 10" Y. Was thinking the 45 would be needed, but I'm no expert. Might not even be the right part.
Also, is there a big difference (in performance, I know there is in sound) on the 94000 and 93000(?) series Hi-Flow cats?
Lastly, is there a place to sells 04-08 3" ford tail pipe from the Y-back or is that pretty much a custom job? Guess I thought I remember seeing a place that did it, but couldn't find it again. Maggie has a 4" Diesel pipe which is a tad too big for what I want.

he will move power band up higher and lose on the bottom end,not what these heavy trucks exactlry need-it's not a superduty, which runs 3" oem exhaust for one reason, ad one reason only.
I don't think ford would put a 3" on the superduty's if it hurt the low end... being that they are designed to haul/tow/push/pull/whatever. The F150's don't have a 3" because of most any reason that isn't performance. Sound and ratings for insurance rank at the top of the list though. People are less likely to care which 3/4 ton is quieter than they are which half ton is.
fyi sparky- the superduties are their workhorses- they are 3" for 1 reason-lower egt's, engineers designed them with 3" for this reason-same reason that any reputable diesel tuner will recommend going to a larger catback on a diesel with a performance tune-for lower egts-has NOTHING to do with noise-PERIOD.
Performance wise I have an AEM intake and PHP Gryphon running lvl 2. Still waiting on the custom tune.
Basically the exhaust is stock. I was looking into getting some high flows, which I'm a bit back and forth on, and opening up the catback. I don't want to run duals or anything like that.
I found some places where I can get the maggie Y for a good price and a stock OE replacement tailpipe in 3" diameter. So I should be set there. Just finding the tip and 18" maggie muffler for a good price. But just want to make sure I'm heading in the right direction with this. I also don't want it to be loud, which I know the maggie cats tend to do, but not by a lot from what I've read.

^ I think you have the right idea there. Just remember, plan on getting a longer muffler if your going to run high flows. I would suggest just getting the 18" muffler and leaving the cats alone.
