Performance and Sound

I am new to Ford truck family. I just bought a 2010 White Platinum 4x4 and I am wanting to start doing some mods.
Looking for the best sounding and performance exhaust. I will be adding cold air intake and programmer as well when I figure out from you guys what is the best and most reliable. I do a lot of traveling so I don't want to be stranded but am also about power and speed.
I own a 65 cobra and a 13 second durmax dually so I know how to do it just never on a Ford truck.
Anyway any help on what I should do first would be great.
Thanks in advance
Scott

If you are looking for the best performance... I would say 2.25" true duals with straightthru mufflers like borlas

If hyou want a fast Ford truck you might as wel buy a Lightning. And your exhaust wont leave you stranded.

A simple single in dual out system with a straight through design would be good. 2.25" mandrel bent true duals with an X pipe where the OEM Y pipe was would perform well for towing also, but cost a bit more to have done, and hum inside more.

I know the exhaust won't leave me straned I was talking about a performance tune that would.
I don't want a lot of inside drone just real crisp sound and good performance.
What's the best tune and Air intake system?

A good tune will not leave you stranded either.

Intake = STOCK - it's a very good one with a well-flowing filter.

Tune = SCT custom from either Troyer Performane or VMP. I would also suggest Gryphon from PHP, but they are not ready yet, AFAIK...

lol - have you seen the '09-'10 5.4 intakes?

From Justin's website:

"Any aftermarket intake that flows well and puts the slot-style MAF sensor into a larger less restrictive housing is going to REQUIRE a tune for the vehicle to run properly. Intakes that do not require a tune are often just as restrictive as stock and do not result in large power gains."

He's going to get it tuned so it doesn't matter.

Thanks for all the info?
What can I expect from a good tune as far as good HP and Torque?
Milage increase? Are they adjustable HP settings like we can do on diesels?

Mileage increase - marginal at best
Power levels - yes, but not as high as diesels.

It all depends on the mods you have them tune for. A tune that has a full exhaust and a cold air intake in it will net more power than just a canned tune. You should be gaining about 30 HP and 45 TQ.
