Anyone done this?

I'm sixteen and now broke because i just spent my money on a new sound system, so I'm looking for a cheap way to get a louder, yet a deep sounding exhaust. I was thinking if i could buy a magnaflow 14" muffler and replace with my stocker now, then right after it dump the pipes. It'd be cheaper and that's why I'm leaning that way..If anyone on here has done it or heard good/bad things about people who did let me know please! Any help is greatly appreciated.

That can work. But how loud do you want it? You can go louder and get a deep sound. 14" round body Magnaflow, or Dynomax Bullet. And it will be cheaper than a 14" oval body.

I want it to sound like a truck and not like a damn smartcar when i hit the gas. I like loud, but i don't like that super loud higher pitch exhaust sound, I would like a loud, deep rumble. How much do those mufflers usually run at? It wouldn't be too expensive to have a shop do that would it?

bullets are about $50 shipped. And you could get it welded for around $30 or so if you dump it.

A dumped bullet will be a bit noisey inside, not with rumble, but with a bass drone. But it wont be as loud outside like if it was to have a tip. Might consider it.

Thanks for the help guys, by the way darren your truck is everything I wish mine was. I'm not really looking for the biggest drone in the cab, but when you say putting a tip on it do you mean taking it all the way to the back where it comes out now? or putting a tip on it right after the muffler and still leaving it hidden?

jpf, I like the sound of yours, I see it's not dumped, would a dumped bullet be louder, softer, or about the same as that?

Thanks man. I meant if you were to run a tailpipe(s) and tip(s) it would be louder outside than if you were to have it dumped. Dumped will make it louder inside than with a tailpipe.

Really? Well crap that sort of switches my plans around, where could I get the tailpipes and tips to put on it? Just look around for a shop that would add that on? If it adds a lot more to the cost I may not be able to do it

Magnaflow sells pre-bent tailpieps but they aren't cheap, like $105 each, mandrelbendsolutions.com sells pre-bent piping too, but you would have to piece it together, or have a custom order made. I say you would be best off mating it to your stock tailpipe but you would need a bigger tip for the end, and a zig zaged shape pipe most likely.

But Bullet is the much cheaper route here. I think about $40 for one.
