piping question

i have heard many people say that going to 2.25 piping would prefrom better than 2.5 . why is that ? better low end torque? does it affect your mid and high range negativly? and is it from the header back or just the cross pipe?

A stock truck will have 2.5" from the manifold. If you run true duals, 2.25" piping is said to give you a little more low end torque while towing. On the other hand. True duals with 2.5" will give you better high RPM HP, AKA getting on the interstate fast (like me) and passing power. I went with 2.5" duals and will never look back. I have pulled probably 6000lbs with it many times and it pulls just fine, and it runs great passing people!

Its correct. 2.25" for consistant towing, 2.5" for modified engines and high end power.
