Whats needed for true duals?
05 with a 4.6L, ext cab 6.5' box. Everything is stock right now i was just wondering what u need to get a true dual set up. is it just 2 hi flow cats, 2 mufflers and h or x pipe and 2 tips? only place they connect is on the x pipe?
Also will this cause my check engine light to come on, if so how do u fix it, and where do u place the 02 sensor?
THX GUYS

For a true dual set up you dont really need highflow cats just 2 mufflers and a cross over like a x or h pipe. Check engine light shouldn't come on as long as the 02 sensors are behind the highflow cats.
Ture duals are 2 pipes running from the manifolds to the back where i live. no x pipe no cats no muffler just pipes. but it all depends on where you live what is the true meaning of ture duals.
im not for sure on an 05 if it will make the CEL come on. it did on mine but im not to worried about it cause it aint hurting my truck at all.
good luck with one right answer cause it all depends where you live

Ryan - you are right about 2 pipes from the manifolds back... However, when cat-back systems were introduced and people were discussing their exhaust, someone coined the phrase "true duals" to mean 2 pipes from the manifolds, regardless of mufflers or cats. It was a way to say, it's not a cat-back system, which has a y pipe from the manifolds.
can i keep my 4 stock cats? just dont connect them run the 2 single mufflers then x pipe, then tip out back?

No, the X pipe goes where your5 OEM Y pipe was, in that area. Do not add a cross over after mufflers. Otherwise yes you are fine. The only reason cat upgading is for is for more volume.

the CEL is p0171 ans p0174 aka bank 1 and bank 2 running lean.
it is some under lieing problem that surfaced when cold weather hit. it has puzzled every shop in town
(CLE came on before i put true duals on it while i was running just pipe to where the muffler was)
i would be awe struck if someone could tell me whats wrong but since it aint the MAF sensor nor fuel pressure its any bodies guess
true but where i live true duals is just the pipe then you add what you have. its all about location.
incorrect i have all four stock cats(all are working fine)

You know for a fact that each of the 02 sensors are in good operating order?
