Magnaflow compared to flowmaster/dynomax
Magnaflow compared to flowmaster/dynomax
I'm still debating on what route to go to keep the aggresive sound at WOT, but get rid of that annoying throne at crusing speeds.
This is on a 97 F150 V8.
rear cats deleted.
tue dual with H pipe.
right now has 2 dynomax bullets.
I originally had a 40series flowmaster, sounded good but had a horrible throne. I then made it a true dual with H pipe and am running bullets, they aren't much better for in cabin sound.
I was debating on getting 60series mufflers, but they are $100 a piece, thought those might make it quieter inside.
I saw the 14" magnaflow mufflers are $60 a piece.
If I go with magnaflow amd I still going to have that nasty throne in the cabin?
Putting the rear cats on is not an option right now. I'd really like to keep everything the way it is, but replace the bullets and make it sound good, but replace the throne so I can actually hold a conversation in the cab. :P
I'd go with borla, but those are $120 a piece.
Thoughts.
Thanks,

Try the 14s out. Listen to my video below my sig, along with a vast amount of exterior clips, and the end of it there are interior videos displaying the amount of drone there is, check and see if its for you.
Should I get the Oval or Round one's. Looks like in the oval I can get 14" body's but in the round they make them longer....
The round one's are straight through correct so they will be louder?
I dont mind if I loose some of the aggressive sound, hopefully just no all of it.
Darren, I listened to your clips, they sound good but it's hard to tell just how much drone there really is in the cab at crusing speeds.
I just dont want to spend more cash and end up disliking it again. :P
Thanks for all the replies!

The rounds will drone inside heavily so I would look at the oval case mufflers only.
And to answer your question about the cab drone with my system, only during acceleration do I hear the exhaust much, that, and when in 4th gear O/D going 1400 - 1600rpm, otherwise its calm, even at 70mph.

I've got magnaflow on my 05 f150 and its not to bad inside the truck and it exits before the tires. My dad has got the same setup on his truck 97 f-250 5.4L and its really bad inside the cab on his truck. I want mine louder so im changing it to SLP loudmouth side exit.
