Duals.....

I went down to the local exhaust shop up here to get a quote for true duals. I currently have the Flowmaster SI/DO with rear cats removed and want it louder. After talking with the shop they quoted me 200.00 to swap out the SI/DO to a DI/DO my question is will this really be as loud as i am hoping? or should i bite the bullett and get a true dual? how much louder, whats the difference in sound quality?

It wont be that much louder. Get true dual Dynomax Bullets and you will be satisfied.

Does that $200 include installation of everything else? If so I'd say that's a pretty good price to switch over. I had true duals before with just two SI/SO Flowmaster 40 series. I paid $160 for them to install completely new pipe, an x-crossover, and two bullets. Also had them run the tips straight out the back instead of angled.

I put the new exhaust vids I took in my sig. Like Darren recommended I'm running true dual Bullets.

I would buy all the parts online (cats, mufflers that you want, the tips, and an X-pipe if you want it over an H-pipe), then just have the shop piece it together. You'll end up saving a lot of money buying all the main parts on your own instead of through the shop.

Sounds pretty good, but it sounds different than that other guy that has the yellow truck... What size are your bullets?

Damn he paid $250 for high-flows?

The differences in our exhaust setups are the brand of high flows (negligible difference in sound) and tips. The tips may give a different tone. I know before I installed mine I had just the piping coming out the back. When I put the tips on the tone got deeper.

Not sure if he has them but I also have a CAI and Gryphon. I notice when I change between stock and level 2 or 3 the exhaust sound changes a bit.

Other than that I think the biggest difference would be recording media. I used a DSLR, not sure what he used.

Many variables.

mblouir- yes the 200 does include the pipes, muffler and installation. i figured the DI/DO wouldnt be as loud as the true duals. i have no idea what6 the cost would be on that setup, since i am new to this area i am limited to the amount of places i can shop around.

hmm... interesting. His almost sounds like an ls1 with SLP pipes. Yours sounds more like straight pipes, but better IMO. Different brand cats...

x2 same here, I notice the exhaust note difference too. Its about 10% louder. Not sure how Bill does it, but it has to be in the timing and idle.
