new member with a exhaust question
im bout to get a new exhaust..im plannin on gettin cuttin my 2nd cats off an replacin the first 2 with highflow but dont really kno which brand..after the cats i wanna go to 3in to a x pipe an go to the rear axle into a si/si dumped but i dont really kno which mufflers to go with..an another question would i benefit with a h pipe also..this is goin to be a true dual system..its on a 2000 f150 5.4 4x4..wat do u guys think
If you are going to run true duals you definatly don't want to run 3". The max for true duals is 2.5" and for more low end go 2.25". The X pipe will give you more performance then a H pipe but I would listen to videos and see which one you like better. You truck will sound awesome with hi-flows and true duals you just have to decide what muffler you like better sound wise. Look at everyones sigs for vids and youtube, plenty of members with flowmaster, magnaflow, dynomax. For hi-flows everyone likes the magnaflow cats.

^Agreed
Personally, if your going to delete or gut your rear cats, I wouldnt bother
replacing the front cats with high flows. Your front cats dont restrict your
air flow very much as there not that big. Its cool if you do, I just wouldnt spend
the money on them.
But you seam like your on the right road. Just be sure NOT to run any pipe larger
than 2.5. People tend to think thatg bigger pipe means bigger sound. Which it can but,
will KILL your power!

Flowmaster's do not impress me on these Ford modular engines. The sound just isn't right. My brothers Super Duty is the only one I have heard with a good sounding Flowmaster, its the Original 40 3" in 2.5" out.
