try the airaid.

or I am not sure if the gotts mod is for your year, may want to give that a look, which is way cheaper.

Troyer has done tests years ago and as I recall, concluded that there is little difference. Some think the open filter lets heat in from the engine compartment, but Troyer's explanation said the air flowed over the engine and there was not much difference.

Banks is enclosed as well.
When I went to order my intake from Troyer they also told me the AF1 was discontinued so they sent me the Airaid. I'm happy with it so far.

X2.

While moving cooler ambient air rushes under the hood and "floods" the engine bay. The only time you'll start to suck warmer air is when your vehicle's not moving, ideling...

I've noticed via ScanGauge II, my air intake temp. will slowly rise when sitting and waiting at a drive-thru, but when you get moving again, back down it goes.

Check out the S&B intake. I put one on my 01 EXPd last year. I have been very happy with it. I paid around 200 from Jegs. I had planned on teeh GOtts mod, but when I pulled my stock airbox, I found that it had been cracked and glued, so I went ahead with the S&B. If I remember correctly S&B was one of the better intakes after AF1.

AF1 went out of business some time last year I think, AF1 uses the S&B air filters which is part of why they are so good.
