Exhaust help please... :)

ok...so i'm stuck on mufflers.

i am going with 2.25" true duals, x-piped, no cats on my 1980 Lariat 351w C6 auto.

I'm stuck on either getting Mags or SLP loudmouth IIs. I don't want snap, crackle, pop but i want my truck to sound like a TRUCK!!! little to no drone in cab would be awesome.

What should i get? Mags are about $30 each right now at jegs.com and SLP LMIIs are about $200 for the pair. I LOVE the sound of SLP but like the price of mags better.

what would be better torque/hp?

thanks guys

what magnaflow mufflers are you looking at? all magnaflows are straight through, so the flow of them will be the same as the SLP LMIIs. SLPs will crackle more than magnaflows. magnaflow will be deeper, but not as loud.

glassplack.. sounds differnet on year of truck and. engine size..

with 4 cats a glass back on a 04 - 05 f150 4.6 its deep and loud sounds nice

2 cat on 06 and up with a glasspack on a 4.6 or a 5.4. sounds like a flowmaster. with a turndown.

i mean **** i run precats only on my f150 and if i turn overdrive off. it pops all the way down the road.

slp II's will sound like glasspacks too...idk why you want to put such a high priced muffler on that kind of truck..normally people put the monster 36" glasspacks on there and it sounds REAL deep

glasspacks are crap sounding on V8s. Leave them for the 6 bangers.

The only Dyno Bullets I would go with would be the 18" ones because the 12" ones will sound exactly like straights with no cats so whats the point of buying mufflers. I would go with the Super 44s for your truck. Push rods with no cats make chambered mufflers sound sweet.

sooooo let me get this straight...

NO to: magnaflow glasspacks, dynomax bullets, or SLP Loudmouth IIs

YES to: Super 44's?

for a true dualed, 351w with no cats and 2.25" piping with an x-pipe?

I would suggest the 18" Bullets, just not the 12" ones, so any Flowmaster 2 chamber, 18" Bullet, and Borla XR1s but the XR1s are abut $120 per muffler.
