Dynatech header Y pipe question

Hey guys

so im thinking of installing my dynatech headers this week and after taking them out of the box to examine them i see that the Y pipe has the hole for the o2 sensor.

well i have true duals so i wouldnt be using the Y pipe so what should be done about that?

mount the o2 sensor in the headers or get some highflow cats and mount to the headers and then install the 02 sensor behind the cats and then your true duals since your not using the y pipe you want to get rid of it?

Yea, if you want to sell that, I'm interested as well.

PM me if bankrpt can't use it.

Thanks.

Thats a weird design, is the O2 sensor facing down when instaled? But if i was you I would have a shop cut the the pipe at the top of the Y before the O2 hole and have them weld two pipes side by side from there right to your duel pipes.

no the o2 sensor would be facing sideways toward the passenger side at a 90* angle

That is pretty odd having a rear O2 mount so far down that its at the Y pipe. That is obviously the passenger bank O2. So your left bank guide over pipe must have an O2 mount also.

The Y twists up some, sort of like this -

But I'm not sure how much in that model, -that should give yuh a rough idea anyway.

The 04+ twist up isn't that deep like that kit is. Looking forward to seeing your install though thegodfather.

Well to answer, the Y's out. Run your duals into an X pipe / then finish out. Head to a shop to strengthen it up. They'll add a few braces (where your duels come together), hangers or whatnot, - unless your equipped.

Honestly for duels (I hate duels on stock engines, worthless without a blower IMO lol), If I had the engine for it, I would have the shop twist me up a mandrel intermediate for duels to compliment the system. You went this far and X pipe it for sure.

Looks to me like you have resonator bungs, - thread your 02's right into them,- if you have to. That works too. Those look kind of small for high flows, but okay - , just new to me.

BTW - Changed my mind on the Y, I can't use it, - You should.... IMO, but that's up to you.

Nice set up I suppose your already set up with Bill or Corey right? Gottuh dial them ponies in ( :

Feel free to correct if wrong fella's lol - He has an 08, I'm not that familiar with the newer ones.
