I have tried the search function and I guess I just can't find the correct terms to search for.

Will the Gotts intake mod work on a 2003 XLT with the 4.2L V6. Does the 4.2L have the silencer in the intake?

I recently did this mod to my '99 4.2 XL. I found that the intake is different on my 4.2 than on my '03 5.4 work truck. I had to shim the intake to connect the pipe coupling, as the intake has an approx 2.5" diameter (used a piece of 3" PVC for the shim). Other than that I followed the directions found in the how-to forum.
