intake/exhaust advice

truck is a 2007 xlt screw, 5.4. it came with a gibson si/do and i recently threw some 35's and an edge evo on there

1) is there a big enough performance gain (if any) to warrant the hundreds of dollars it would take to have a completely custom dual exhaust w/hi flows, mufflers and all, or should i just stick with what i have and be money ahead. the sound to me is perfect, and performance seems to be pretty good too (not sluggish at all)

2) also, im about to pull the trigger on a cai set up and upgrade to the gryphon custom tuner, and ive been looking at the spectre 4" intake and the volant. i know the volant is completely encolsed, but the spectre is $200 less. sometime soon i will be most likely getting the reflexions cowl hood, so is the volant really worth the extra $200 to have the "true" cai?

Exhaust makes a minimal performance upgrade. It does not make any more engine power, it just helps it exhale more which in return helps it run better, and sound unique.

In your case I would keep it single, or if you must change to duals go with dual 2.25" off the cats.

I bought a cheap CAI off of ebay for $80, and I could tell a difference with it.

Disregard that first link. Mine came with a K&N brand filter too. I don't think that this one does.

1. Leave your exhaust be unless you want a difference sound. You won't be able to tell the difference in power an exhaust change makes. Very minimal.

2. Haven't heard anything about either being dynoed by one of the tuners (as far as gains), but any intake with a tune will be leaps ahead of the OEM setup.

I'd spend the money on gears for those bigger tires. That's a mod. you'd definately be able to tell the difference...

thats kinda what i was thinkin, but i just wanted to confirm, cause i hear everyone talking about duals duals duals

as far as gears, i know thats gonna be the best way to get my power back, but its cost prohibitive for a little while

avfrog, is it safe to assume yours bolted right up, no problems? i just thought that one looked kinda cheesy, like it may require some modifications to work right
