trying to remove muffler

i have a 2000 5.4l with a dual gibson exhaust. the exhaust has a si/do muffler on it and it's way to quiet. was trying to find a Y pipe to remove the muffler completely, i am leaving the cats alone so it should still have enough back pressure. only problem i found is all the Y pipes i was looking at take two pipes and join them into one, i need the opposite. do they make a 2.5" reverse Y pipe ?

thanks for any help

Match the single pipe to the single pipe and the double pipe to your duals by taking the Y pipe and spinning it 180 degrees.

exactly.. Turn it around. A Y pipe is not a chambered muffler that has a specific inlet side, theres a hollow center to the Y pipe, just rotate it around.

Magnaflows 10778 Y pipe would work fine if the Gibson intermediate pipe is 3".

Y pipes have nothing inside them, so there is nothing flared the wrong way, or nothing to make it flow the wrong way.

Exactly! It can be mounted either way to serve whatever system you are trying to build.
