Playing it safe

There have been a few posts lately on whether vehicles with 4 factory cats will pass if removed and replaced with two. Lets flip this around. Let's say you want to play it safe and replace all 4 with some high flows. Past assuming the tech would need to create and bend a custom midpipe, would you then just go with two Magnaflows on each side or how would you handle it? What kind of a loss with sound / HP are we making by adding those extra two?

im not sure if the emissions inspection will pass, but as far as just a visual inspection, you will pass with just one on each side. i dont think you will see an increase in performance unless your converters are stopped up, the more converters/mufflers you have you will lose sound.

Just stick with Magnaflow's cats, they make a pre-cat style hi-flow and 3 different main cats that will fit inplace.

Thanks....I got the go ahead from my exhaust shop to order the dynatech set I've been looking at and they're ordered already. Gentleman said as long as I didn't throw an error code I was good as far as he was concerned Hope it works out similarly for everyone else that's been wondering about this same thing lately.
